Nick B. Rindal
Raised in Walla Walla, Washington, by pioneers of the local wine industry, I developed an early passion for hands-on creation—from building bicycle wheels at 13 to operating heavy machinery for vineyard construction before I had my driver's license.
After high school, I refined my skills through a carpentry program and then broadened my understanding of building principles at Washington State University's Construction Management program. There, I was particularly drawn to the tangible aspects of building, excelling in the one blueprint reading class, where I scored 198/200 on the final.
This foundation led me to a revelatory furniture building class taught by a Harvard GSD alumnus, where I deepened my appreciation for architecture and the awareness of my own creativity. Despite being unable to complete my architectural education, I continued to pursue my interests, which eventually led to the founding of NBR Design while I was working as a carpenter at Ketelsen Construction. I later transitioned the firm into a general contracting business focused on practical, coherent building solutions while continuing my hands-on approach to education.
Today, I leverage nearly two decades of experience in design and construction to offer unique architectural solutions. My approach combines deep construction knowledge and real layout experience with design creativity to seamlessly turn visions into reality.
